Photos of Old Northallerton

Click pictures for a larger view ....

The following pictures kindly provided by Colin Narramore of Northallerton.

The following pictures kindly emailed to us by Jonathan Hills, ex-pat of Northallerton.

Teresa from Canada wonders if anyone recognises this photo. The photo is of her father's platoon when they were at Pepper Arden Estate, South Cowton in or about 1941.

A couple who worked on the estate were Mr and Mrs Wake. The lady next door was Mrs Parkinson who had a daughter who went out with someone named Gilmoor.

Teresa's father was killed on the beach on D-day at the age of 22. Her mother was 7 months pregnant with Teresa at the time, their only child.

Her father's full name was Arthur Thomas WATSON, known as Tom or Tommy. In the photo, he is in the second row from the front, 7th from the left.

If you have any information for Teresa, please email her at weluvkiddies@rogers.com.

If you have any old photos of Northallerton that you would like to appear on this page (fully credited to yourselves of course), please email them to us. Anything will do - old school photos, photos of the town, its buildings, people, etc.

If you don't have access to a scanner don't let this put you off. You can always post them to us, we'll scan them and send them back to you within a couple of days. Contact us for further details.
